This program is made possible through your generous donations.
Bringing Art to Schools is made possible only by the support of the many individuals and organizations that recognize the value of an elementary art program in our community.
BATS extends its heartfelt thanks to the many volunteers working in the classroom. They make it happen! They attending training sessions, mentor new presenters, and return year after year to work with the children.
We are grateful for the support of school PTA’s which are able to budget money to help provide art supplies for the program.
The Art Department of the Lake Tahoe Community College has facilitated the field trips to the Haldan Gallery. They have opened the Gallery early to accommodate school bus arrival and have provided space and staff to help with the art projects and visits. Thank you to all!
A heartfelt thank you to Marcus Ashley Gallery, who professionally prepared student art for the Lake Tahoe Educational Foundation Fall Food Fest and Auction.
And without a doubt, the financial contribution of individuals, local groups and charitable funding organizations is critical to the success of BATS. Our gratitude is extended to this year's donors:
• Lake Tahoe Visitors Authority (American Century Golf)
• Lake Tahoe Educational Foundation
• Soroptimist International of Tahoe Sierra
• El Dorado Community Foundation
Join the BATS Program Today!
If you would like to participate as a volunteer art presenter in the BATS program, you will be joining a dedicated corps of approximately 100 volunteers. BATS provides training and mentoring for new volunteers.
We visit our classroom five times during the school year. Using a grade specific portfolio, we present five fine art prints based on a theme. Following a discussion of the prints, the volunteer leads the children in an art project related to the theme. The portfolios all contain examples of fun art projects that have been successfully completed in the past.
